Medical Laboratory Scientist II - $7,500.00 Sign-on Bonus

About the role

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium is seeking qualified candidates for various Medical Laboratory Scientist positions. These roles are part of a team providing comprehensive health services, including medical services at the Alaska Native Medical Center, wellness programs, disease research, and rural provider training.

Responsibilities

• Trains in and performs a full range of simple-to-complex sample testing and laboratory services.
• Trains in and performs patient specimen testing.
• Evaluates, judges, and interprets test results and ensures accuracy.
• Accepts and processes samples for on-site testing or forwards to contracted reference laboratories.
• Identifies and resolves inconsistencies in patient results.
• Maintains laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Ensures quality control and functionality of instruments.
• Prepares lab for inspection from regulatory institutions.
• Provides customer service for questions directed at the laboratory.
• Answers questions from patient providers regarding test processes, patient results, or sample collection techniques.
• Participates in continuing education programs.
• Maintains and orders laboratory supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
• Progressively responsible work-related experience, education, or training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.
• One (1) year of clinical laboratory experience for Medical Laboratory Technician and Medical Laboratory Scientist I & II positions.
• Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) OR Clinical Laboratory Scientist (NCA) OR equivalent certification (as determined by a national credential certification agency).
