Medical Laboratory Scientist - Clinical Laboratory

About the role

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist position is per-diem and works 8-hour, variable shifts at Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, CA. Responsibilities

• Accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results
• Performing pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, and instrument maintenance
• Collaborating with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, along with other Laboratory Services staff

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Biology with coursework in clinical chemistry, hematology, immunology, and medical microbiology
• Completion of a 16-semester or equivalent quarter units of chemistry coursework, including clinical chemistry
• Completion of a 18-semester or equivalent quarter units of biology coursework, including hematology, immunology, and medical microbiology
• Completion of 3-semester or equivalent quarter units of physics (light and electricity)
• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
• One year internship as a prerequisite to the State Exam

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of clinical lab experience in a hospital setting

• Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
