About the role

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, test result reporting, and clerical and patient care support services. The CLS provides service in one or more sections of the laboratory with a high level of accuracy, precision, and timeliness, ensuring compliance with departmental and regulatory agency standards. Service is provided to patients of all age groups: premature infants, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young, middle, and older adults.

Non-technical duties include taking supply inventories, stocking supplies, cleaning and maintaining work area, equipment, and instrumentation. The CLS provides service in a safe and professional manner and works within the established policies and procedures of the Laboratory and the Organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specimen processing and test performance with accuracy and precision.
  • Report test results in a timely manner.
  • Provide clerical and patient care support services.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental and regulatory agency standards.
  • Maintain and clean work area, equipment, and instrumentation.
  • Stock and inventory supplies.
  • Provide service to patients of all age groups in a safe and professional manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science.
  • California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (upon hire).
  • 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory in the area of responsibility.
  • Must meet CLIA requirements for testing personnel, moderate to high complexity tests.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $51.76 - $80.34 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
