Medical Laboratory Scientist- Chemistry Laboratory

About the role

Under general supervision, you will independently perform all levels of moderate and high complexity testing, following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. The role involves performing routine and specialized technical analyses, operating and maintaining instrumentation according to laboratory protocols, and exercising independent judgment to recognize and solve test-related problems. You will also perform technical job duties as specified in CAP Regulations for Tests of Moderate and High Complexity and align with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high complexity testing independently.
• Conduct routine and specialized technical analyses.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation according to established procedures.
• Exercise independent judgment to solve test-related problems.
• Adhere to CAP Regulations for Personnel Requirements for Tests of Moderate and High Complexity.
• Align work with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Medical Technologist by the State of Florida Department of Health.
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
• Focus on Chemistry preferred.

Schedule

• Full-time, on-site role.
• Evening shift: 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM.

Pay

Minimum starting salary: $28.74 per hour.

Work Location: TGH Main Campus, Tampa General Hospital.
