Medical Laboratory Scientist

Job Summary Performs and reports clearly defined laboratory procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes using laboratory skills. Responsible for assigned shifts, with potential overtime and callbacks, and performs additional duties as needed. Responsibilities Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimens for accurate and timely testing.Executes and reports laboratory procedures.Conducts quality control, proficiency testing, routine instrument maintenance, and inventory management.Ensures positive patient identification to minimize errors and adverse outcomes.Evaluates data, draws conclusions, and supports ongoing professional development.Provides instruction to personnel and students in medical technology, as required. Qualifications And Skills Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited program.Clinical laboratory experience preferred.Basic computer literacy required.National certification compliant with Federal and State regulations required; ASCP certification preferred.
