About the role
We have opportunities available in the following labs:
- Transplant Lab
- Transfusion Medicine Lab
- Core Lab
- Microbiology Lab
- Special Hematology
Select full-time positions are eligible for up to $10,000 in commitment incentives.
Pay
Salary range: $26.59 - $41.09 per hour (Hiring Range). Pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity.
Schedule
Per Diem, Part-time, and Full-time available.

Opportunities are available in a variety of locations, including:
- UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill and Hillsborough
- UNC Health Rex in Raleigh and Holly Springs
- UNC Health Johnston in Smithfield
- UNC Health Rockingham in Eden

Requirements
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science, or
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Biological Science, or
- Associate's Degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Technology
Licensure/Certification Requirements
- If an Associate's Degree in Clinical Lab Science, Medical Lab Technician, Chemical Science, or Biological Science: MLT (ASCP) or MLT (AMT) certification is required.
- If a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Biological Science: ASCP categorical certification in the specialty area is required.
- If a Bachelor's Degree in Clinical/Medical Lab Science: MT/MLS (ASCP) or MT/MLS (AMT) certification is required.
Professional Experience Requirements
Medical Lab Scientist II:
- If an Associate's Degree in Clinical Lab Science, Medical Lab Technician, Chemical Science, or Biological Science: two (2) years of experience required.
- If a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Biological Science: two (2) years of experience required.
- If a Bachelor's Degree in Clinical/Medical Lab Science: no experience required.
Medical Lab Scientist III:
- If an Associate's Degree in Clinical Lab Science, Medical Lab Technician, Chemical Science, or Biological Science: four (4) years of experience required.
- If a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Biological Science: three (3) years of experience required.
- If a Bachelor's Degree in Clinical/Medical Lab Science: two (2) years of experience required.
