Medical Laboratory Scientist

Job Summary

The MLS/MT plays a crucial role in diagnosing and performing tests using highly specialized skills and complex instruments. The MLS/MT provides information vital for a health care team to diagnose, treat, and manage patients' illnesses. The position is responsible for providing quality and timely pathology tests, maintaining quality control and preventative maintenance records.

Job Requirements

• Strong trouble-shooting skills to identify and resolve issues with tests or equipment.

• Able to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Able to adapt to new methods, technologies, and changes within the laboratory environment.
• Able to analyze and interpret test results accurately.
• High level of precision to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling equipment/instruments.
• Knowledge of biology, chemistry, and mathematics.
• Passion for customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
• 1-year general lab experience (nice to have).
• Current Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) licensure with ASCP or AMT or willing to obtain.
• Pass MN background check and fingerprinting.
• Complete TB test within the first 3 weeks of employment.

Job Schedule/Location(s)

Hallock, MN
Full-time
Shift 7:00am – 5:00pm.
Rotating call; nights, weekends and holidays.
Nursing Home/Long-term care, clinic, Hospital setting.
