Medical Laboratory Scientist
About the role
The Medical Laboratory Scientist will perform and report a wide range of analytical procedures on patient specimens, ensuring accurate and timely results vital for patient diagnosis and treatment. Key responsibilities include executing tests, maintaining equipment, interpreting results, and providing patient care.
Responsibilities
- Execute complex laboratory tests adhering to SOPs
- Provide clinical correlation of results and notify caregivers of critical values
- Maintain and troubleshoot major automated equipment
- Perform calibration and quality control procedures
- Participate in proficiency testing and document validation of new procedures and equipment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a biological or chemical science
- Experience in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, or related fields
- Strong scientific foundation and advanced technical proficiency
- Exceptional problem-solving and attention to detail
- Commitment to accuracy and regulatory compliance
