Medical Laboratory Scientist
About the role
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. CLS personnel are capable of performing pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, and instrument maintenance and problem resolution. They often work with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, along with other Laboratory Services staff in performing their duties.
Responsibilities

- Work with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, along with other Laboratory Services staff
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Biology with coursework/Training in clinical chemistry, hematology, immunology, and medical microbiology
- Physics coursework/Training in light and electricity
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
- One year internship - prerequisite to the State Exam
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years clinical lab experience in a hospital setting
Qualifications
- Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License

Pay
The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
