About the role
The Medical Laboratory Scientist will perform and report a wide range of analytical procedures on patient specimens, ensuring accurate and timely results vital for patient diagnosis and treatment. Key responsibilities include executing tests, maintaining equipment, and providing patient care.
Responsibilities
- Execute a variety of analytical procedures across various lab disciplines
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and contact vendors for repairs
- Perform calibration and quality control procedures, and document results
- Conduct proficiency testing and review results with laboratory leaders
- Assist in validating new procedures and equipment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a biological or chemical science
- International Medical Laboratory Scientist certification preferred
- Experience in blood banking upon hire
- Advanced proficiency in chemistry, microbiology, and other relevant areas
