Medical Laboratory Scientist

Job Summary Utilizes laboratory skills to perform and report results of clearly defined procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Responsible for assigned shifts, with potential overtime and callbacks. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsibilities Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimens for accurate and timely testing.Performs and reports laboratory procedures as requested.Conducts quality control, proficiency testing, routine instrument maintenance, and inventory management.Ensures positive patient identification to minimize errors and adverse outcomes.Evaluates data, draws appropriate conclusions, and supports ongoing learning.Completes assigned goals and may instruct personnel and students in medical technology. Qualifications & Skills Minimum of clinical laboratory experience.Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited program.Basic computer literacy required; advanced skills preferred.National certification compliant with Federal and State regulations; ASCP certification preferred.
