About the role

Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) provide information for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses with limited supervision. The MLT's job includes preparing the samples for examination, using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation, performing numerous complicated tests simultaneously and accurately interpreting the results in a timely manner in order to enable the clinician to utilize the data when making treatment decisions.

Responsibilities

• Present gathered data orally or in writing to management or regulatory agencies
• Communicate with the public and other hospital staff
• Work at multiple campuses if assigned

Requirements

• Associates in Medical Laboratory Technician from a nationally accredited program
• National Registry for Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP or equivalent) preferred
• Must be registry eligible
• Must possess language, math, and reasoning skills for data analysis and procedures
• Must be able to communicate effectively with the public and other hospital staff
• Willingness to work at multiple campuses if assigned
