Medical Lab Technician/ Medical Laboratory Scientist- Weekend Shift (Day and Evening shift available)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborative, detail-oriented work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely performance of Clinical Laboratory Tests as per physician and facility requests.
  • Follow and implement Laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Handle and process specimens, report results, maintain records, and perform proficiency testing.
  • Document and adhere to quality control policies, calibrate and maintain equipment, and review test results.
  • Identify and document issues affecting test performance or results, and take corrective actions.
  • Perform complex tests requiring professional judgment, and demonstrate knowledge of test theory.
  • Communicate with nurses and physicians, and assist in maintaining supplies and inventory.
  • Prioritize work duties, recognize and adapt to staffing and scheduling changes, and assist in developing quality control standards.
  • Initiate and suggest technical and administrative changes, and implement them with approval.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Science, microbiology, chemistry, biology or related field.
  • Certification as MLS, MLT, CLS, MT or equivalent by a national recognized agency like ASCP, AMT, AAB.
  • Mandatory meeting CLIA requirements for High Complexity Testing Laboratory.
