Medical Lab Technician-Certified-Laboratory

Sign-on bonus: $5,000. Full-time position, 80 hours per pay period with an every third weekend rotation.

About the role

As a professional Medical Laboratory Technician, you will perform laboratory testing following established policies and procedures to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Responsibilities include solving practical and analytical problems, maintaining and troubleshooting complex instrumentation, and adhering to quality and regulatory guidelines to ensure high-quality patient care.

Schedule

• 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm (80 hours per pay period).
• Every third weekend rotation: 5:30 am – 2:00 pm.

Responsibilities

• Performs careful and accurate work in any technical area as assigned.
• Completes tests within specified turnaround time for assigned area.
• Ensures QA guidelines are strictly adhered to before reporting any laboratory result.
• Complies with methodologies, procedures, and services in consultation with the assigned laboratory supervisor.
• Participates in performing and documenting routine instrument maintenance as assigned.
• Documents all necessary information in the performance of technical procedures.
• Performs blood collections from all age groups with appropriate training.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a science-related field with a certificate of completion from a Medical Laboratory Technician program at an accredited institution.
• Less than one year of experience required; six months of clinical internship preferred.
• Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent. May be hired if registration requirements are completed but the exam has not yet been passed, provided the exam is successfully completed within 6 months of hiring.
