Medical Lab Technician - Blood Bank (Evening Shift)

This role involves performing waived and non-waived laboratory tests accurately and efficiently under supervision, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards such as CLIA '88, JCAHO, CAP, and OSHA. Key responsibilities include operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, calibrating equipment, validating test results, and troubleshooting computer systems. It requires recognizing abnormal results, ensuring specimen integrity, managing supplies, and assisting with specimen collection and processing. Ideal candidates must have an associate or bachelor's degree in a biological or chemical science, relevant laboratory training, or equivalent experience meeting CLIA requirements. Certification (e.g., MLT) and competency in phlebotomy are preferred. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. The role also involves training, project contribution, and supporting department efficiency and quality standards.
