We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform routine and special laboratory tests, coordinate new procedures, and resolve technical issues. The role includes supervising laboratory sections, ensuring reliable patient testing, monitoring quality control activities, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities also involve assisting with performance improvement, managing laboratory operations, and maintaining confidentiality of patient information. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or related fields. At least 4 years of relevant laboratory experience, including one year in the specific lab section. Current state license and certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technologist (ASCP, AMT, or AAB). Skills And Abilities Proficiency in data entry, software applications, and laboratory computer systems. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of safety protocols to minimize exposure to hazards. Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills. Ability to work independently and manage stress professionally. Key Duties Coordinate clinical competency, perform laboratory procedures, and ensure regulatory compliance. Support quality improvement initiatives and consult with supervisors. Adapt communication and procedures to diverse patient populations. Maintain proficiency, meet goals, and stay informed on applicable laws and standards. This role requires working in a healthcare environment with potential exposure to infectious materials and hazardous substances. The position is vital for providing accurate, timely lab results, supporting patient care, and maintaining high standards of laboratory practice.
