About the role

A Medical Lab Technician at Rutherford Regional Health System performs routine laboratory tests in various sections of the laboratory and reports to the Director of Laboratory Services. Patient populations served include demographic, clinical, insurance, financial, and complete medical record data. Exposure to occupational hazards related to bloodborne pathogens is present.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine laboratory tests in various sections of the laboratory.
  • Reports to the Director of Laboratory Services.
  • Serves patient populations including demographic, clinical, insurance, financial, and complete medical record data.
  • Exposure to occupational hazards related to bloodborne pathogens is present.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate's Degree in Science required.
  • Certification: MLT certification through ASCP or AMT preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience in performing routine laboratory tests.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Skills

  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
