About the role
Performs laboratory procedures in a timely and accurate manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Performs functional duties in the pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases in the laboratory path of workflow.
Responsibilities
- Complies with CLIA standards for high complexity testing.
- Handles and processes specimens, performs test analyses, reports results, and maintains records.
- Maintains proficiency testing samples and documents quality control activities, instrument calibrations, and maintenance.
- Identifies and addresses issues affecting test performance or reporting, and documents corrective actions.
- Produces consistently accurate work demonstrating attention to detail.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in medical technology or related field.
- Six months of full-time clinical laboratory experience.
- ASCP or AMT certification or equivalent nationally recognized MLT certification.
- Knowledge of general laboratory equipment and basic computer skills.
Qualifications
- Additional requirements for high complexity testing: Associate's degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or successful completion of a military medical laboratory procedures training course.

Pay
$20.77 to $33.32 per hour ($43,201.60 to $69,305.60 per year).
