Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $78,832.00 - $98,550.40 per year

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise the daily operations, workflow, and performance of the Medical Laboratory.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and evaluate laboratory staff while promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with all laboratory accreditation standards, federal regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Monitor quality assurance activities, investigate testing variances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee implementation of new laboratory tests, instrumentation, procedures, and quality initiatives.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory information systems and Electronic Health Record (EHR) interfaces, including test setup and billing code assignments.
  • Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, Information Technology, and other departments to resolve laboratory issues and improve patient care.
  • Manage laboratory inventory, vendor relationships, equipment maintenance, and operational supplies.
  • Assist with annual budgeting, resource planning, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Perform laboratory testing as needed to support workflow and patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field OR certification as a Medical Technologist (MT).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a medical laboratory setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff leadership, recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and employee development.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory quality management systems, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with laboratory information systems (LIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR), and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
