Medical Lab Scientist/ Medical Lab Technician - Part Time

Job Description

Performs clinical laboratory testing aiding the physician in the crucial role of detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases.

• Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
• Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment and telephones

Education/Certifications/Licenses/Degrees

• Minimally must meet current qualifications listed under section “Clinical Laboratory Personnel Requirements” defined in the federal Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments Act of 1988 (CLIA-88) and Oregon Department of Human Services Regulations
• College of American Pathologists (CAP) and Joint Commission standards
• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science (Copy of academic degree or transcript will be required upon hire)

Experience

• Working knowledge of, but not limited to: LIS and HIS computer systems, specialized automated analyzers, centrifuges, pipettors, microscopes and Pevco pneumatic system

Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements

• Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently
• May be required to lift up to 40 pounds
• Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and body fluids
• Requires frequent use of personal computer
• Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone

Compensation

Minimum $38.66 USD Maximum $57.38 USD
