About the role
Vitalant is hiring an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to bring skilled technical support to our training department to mentor and support our Transfusion Services division in Pittsburgh. Pay
Base wage: $35.89/hour – $48.93/hour (based on role and experience level). Specific pay ranges by position:
- Medical Lab Scientist I: $32.17/hour
- Medical Lab Scientist II: $35.89/hour – $37/hour
- Medical Lab Scientist III: $41.27/hour – $42.55/hour

Responsibilities
- Mentor new employees
- Conduct Medical Lab Generalist (6 weeks) new hire training
- Conduct Medical Lab Scientist (8 weeks) new hire training
- Track competency compliance
- Take on new projects and create trainings
Requirements
- Medical Lab Scientist I:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Lab Science or MLS certification required
- Certification as MLS required within 6 months of employment
- Medical Lab Scientist II:
- MLS/BB certification required
- 2 years in a clinical laboratory setting required
- Medical Lab Scientist III:
- SBB certification preferred
- MLS/BB certification required
- 3 years lab experience with 1-year IRL required
- 2 years lead/charge experience required
