What You’ll Help With
Transform Healthcare
Provides accurate language interpreting services for patients to ensure effectively communication with health care providers and promote a positive patient care experience.
Provides accurate Spanish interpreting services to patients.
All interpretations are to be absolutely accurate and complete, without substitutions or omissions.
What We Require
- Education: High school diploma required.
- Experience: Must be proficient in both written and spoken English and must be proficient in Spanish with 1 to 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting as a medical interpreter with proficiency in medical terminology.
- Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Successful completion/certification as Medical Interpreter (by an agency which is recognized by Carilion) is required or must be obtained prior to hire. 10 Hours of continuing education required annually National Certification preferred but not required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills: Ability to remain calm when dealing with difficult people and crisis situations.
- Interprets with highest degree of accuracy and completeness in consecutive, simultaneous and sight translation modes.
- Flexible to meet scheduling needs and handle often unpredictable changes.
- Good interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
Compensation
Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
