Mayo Behavioral Health Services is a CARF-accredited outpatient addiction and mental health center in Baton Rouge providing intensive outpatient, outpatient, and sober living programs rooted in community. The clinic is Medicare-enrolled and located at 1120 Government Street, serving Baton Rouge and surrounding parishes. Brookhaven Structured Living, a sober home, offers safe community housing to support long-term recovery. Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients in person, by phone, or electronically
  • Collect and verify patient demographics, insurance information, and medical history
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments as needed
  • Register new patients and update existing patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations or referrals
  • Explain intake forms, consent documents, and office policies to patients
  • Ensure all required documentation is complete before appointments
  • Answer patient questions and direct them to the appropriate department when necessary
  • Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other privacy regulations
  • Process incoming referrals and medical records
  • Monitor appointment schedules to minimize delays and improve patient flow

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, Medical Assisting, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a medical office, healthcare, or customer service environment preferred
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills

Pay

$55K/yr - $70K/yr
