Responsibilities

  • Conduct a variety of polysomnography tests.
  • Prepare, calibrate, interface, and operate all equipment used in polysomnographic procedures.
  • Explain procedures, and position patient to insure patient comfort for optimal recording of EEG.
  • Record significant observations such as sleep stage, heart rate, respiration rate, oxygen saturation level, body position; presence and/or absence of sleep apnea, snoring, cardiac arrhythmias, and night terrors.
  • Calibrate and maintain in proper working order complex respiratory equipment.
  • Interpret data obtained from all night recording.
  • Performs Other Duties as Assigned.

    Qualifications

    • One year of specialized experience includes conducting polysomnography tests and analyzing polysomnography test results or maintaining polysomnography equipment.
    • One and a half years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Polysomnography or Sleep Technology.
    • A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
