About the role
This role is for a curious, technically skilled individual who works at the intersection of clinical knowledge and generative AI. The successful candidate will partner with the Medical Director of Content Generation to build and maintain a scalable pipeline for answering clinical and research questions across diverse disease areas and interventions.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Medical Director of Content Generation to build and maintain a scalable pipeline for answering clinical and research questions across diverse disease areas and interventions.
- Develop and curate a library of common clinician and consumer questions spanning a wide range of clinical conditions — from common to rare.
- Convert clinical questions into structured phenotypes or ontological representations (e.g., ICD-10 codes, RxNORM, LOINC, CPT).
- Metatag produced content to enable optimized search and retrieval across the Atropos platform.
- Sources and integrates external content: published studies, active clinical trials, payor policies, CMS Local Coverage Determinations, and consumer-facing clinical questions.
- Verify study outputs against published literature and participate in output QA/QC processes.
- Produce reusable, well-documented code and content that can be integrated into internal tools and surfaced to external stakeholders through product and engineering collaboration.
- Use LLMs and generative AI tools to produce a variety of outputs: code, interactive widgets, PowerPoint presentations, PDFs, and markdown documents.
- Build and consume internal and external APIs; contribute to the development of APIs for Atropos products.
- Work cross-functionally with clinical, engineering, product, and customer success teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Daily hands-on practice with Python, R, or SQL — either natively or preferably in conjunction with generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, GPT-4, Cursor, Copilot).
- Demonstrated ability to iterate toward high-quality outputs through structured, self-directed quality checks — owning the end-to-end process.
- Working knowledge of clinical terminology standards (ICD-10, CPT, SNOMED, LOINC, RxNORM/NDC) and ability to rapidly learn the clinical nuances of how these ontologies are applied in real-world healthcare.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- Ability to work within standard US business hours (any US time zone).
