MEDICAL IMAGING - TECHNOLOGIST ASSISTANT

Duties And Responsibilites

• Answers incoming phone calls, facilitates scheduling of exams, dispenses exam preparations and instructions, and responds to general imaging questions.
• Affords assistance to the Radiologic Technologist with patient screening prior to examination.
• Assists in changing patients into gowns (when necessary), screens patients, documents, transports patients, and addresses questions and prepares patients for imaging procedures to ensure comfort and ease during the process.
• Reviews physician orders and confirms availability of all previous images for comparison.
• Accepts and processes incoming images from other facilities for use as comparison.
• Aids in documentation of appropriate patient information necessary for exam interpretation and patient care.
• Supports the schedulers, technologists, and other coworkers in the department as needed.
• Troubleshoots technical issues and collaborates with vendors to resolve problems that arise.
• Maintains flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as the department expands.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent education.
• Current BLS certification required.
• One to three months of relevant experience preferred, but not mandatory.
