About the role
We are seeking an experienced Front Office Receptionist to join our growing cardiovascular practice. Our physicians specialize in interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, structural heart, vascular care, heart failure, and preventive cardiology, providing exceptional care to patients across North Texas.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and provide a welcoming experience at check-in and check-out
- Collect and verify patient information for billing and insurance purposes
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls; the daily call volume is in excess of 300 inbound calls per day
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Notify clinical staff of patient arrivals
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits via web portals and phone
- Process incoming referrals and complete insurance authorizations for office-based testing (including cardiac stress test, CTs, ultrasounds, etc.)
- Coordinate follow-up testing and explain test instructions to patients
- Collect patient payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
- Clearly communicate patient payment responsibilities
- Maintain accuracy in patient records and documentation
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency required
- Minimum one year of experience working in a medical front office role
- Understanding of insurance coverage, including co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance
- Proficiency in MS Office
- EMR experience required; E-Clinical Works (eCW) preferred
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, service-oriented demeanor and social perceptiveness
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Schedule
- Monday through Thursday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- No evenings, weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities
- Occasional travel between our Dallas and Heath locations may be required
