Medical Equipment Service Technician
About the role
The Equipment Service Technician is a remote-based customer-facing position at STERIS, focusing on medical equipment used in surgical procedures. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining STERIS and competitor equipment, as well as providing installation support.
Responsibilities
- Perform fundamental troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment, systems, and components.
- Manage time effectively by prioritizing customer and business needs and schedules autonomously to complete Preventative Maintenance (PM) performance, service calls, warranty calls, equipment installations, field upgrade programs, and other duties.
- Work with cross-functional teams (Tech Support, Engineering, and Service Contract Management) to escalate issues appropriately and utilize advanced technology platforms to complete compliance regulatory requirements and troubleshoot issues.
- Provide customers with information, pricing, and repair options. With management support, build relationships with sales to drive customer experience and revenue opportunities.
- Identify sales opportunities in assigned territory and provide support to various locations within the assigned territory depending on service agreements and customer needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of work experience, including 2 years in a mechanical/technical role.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet all required background and physical assessment elements to obtain and maintain vendor credentialing requirements.
- Ability to meet flexible schedules with potential overnight, early/late hours, and overnights based on customer and business needs.
- Customer and team engagement experience.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills (MS Windows, email, navigation, mobile app, and ability to data input into a multi-systems).
Qualifications
- Associates degree or related certifications in technical/mechanical area, or competitive equipment training, or related military experience may be considered towards technical experience requirement.
- Ability to meet all required background and physical assessment elements to obtain and maintain vendor credentialing requirements.
Skills
- Experience working in HVAC repair, mechanics, maintenance, refrigeration, boilers, chillers, equipment repair, diesel and automotive repair, aviation repair, plumbing, electrical, etc.

Assessment and Promotional opportunity after 18 months of service
Pay range for this opportunity is $55,250.00 - $71,500.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation. Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.
