Medical Economist

For our client, we are seeking a Medical Economist to join the team of a leader in the Hospitals & Medical Centers space. This remote role will focus on the financial and analytical mechanics behind provider reimbursement, value-based arrangements, and claims performance. The ideal candidate will partner closely with technical, finance, and operational stakeholders to translate complex contract structures into clear specifications and measurable business outcomes. You will also help surface key cost drivers, monitor total medical expense trends, and provide executive-ready insights that support sound decision-making. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $175,000 – $250,000 annually Responsibilities Design and evaluate complex provider reimbursement structures Conduct pre-contract modeling and scenario analysis Oversee financial mechanics for value-based contracts Translate contract terms into actionable technical specifications Ensure claims adjudicate according to contracted intent Monitor Total Medical Expense trends and identify cost drivers Prepare executive summaries and financial trend reports Qualifications 8+ years in healthcare economics or managed care finance, with 3-5 years in Commercial lines Deep knowledge of Commercial reimbursement methodologies Proven track record in contract evaluation and claims execution Hands-on experience with data analysis tools like SQL, Python, or R Strong cross-functional leadership skills Ability to communicate complex data insights to executives Benefits Employer-sponsored health, dental, and vision plan with low or no premium Generous paid time off $100 monthly mobile or internet stipend Stock options for all employees Bonus eligibility for all roles excluding Director and above Parental leave program 401K program And more...
