Duties & Responsibilities
- Transporting IRA residents and staff to hospitals, clinics, medical offices, laboratories, and other outside services throughout Rockland County and New York City.
- Ensuring residents' safety at all times during transportation.
- Communicating pertinent information to Direct Support Professionals.
- Assisting residents with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed.
- Supporting residence or Day Habilitation staff with tasks such as filing medical documents or scheduling appointments when not assigned to medical appointments.
- Following established procedures for vehicle use, parking, weekly schedules, and prioritizing medical appointments.
Education & Experience
- A High School Diploma.
- An NYS valid, non-restrictive driver’s license.
- At least two years of driving experience is required.
- Some experience or willingness to serve people who are Intellectually/physically disabled.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, handle or feel, and reach.
- Sometimes required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
