Medical Director, Virtual Urgent Care & On-Demand Telehealth (Build & Scale 24/7 Service)

For our client, we are seeking a Medical Director, Virtual Urgent Care & On-Demand Telehealth (Build & Scale 24/7 Service) to join the team of a leader in the Hospitals & Medical Centers space. This role will serve as the clinical leader for a virtual urgent care and on-demand telehealth offering, shaping the care model and helping scale a 24/7 service. The Medical Director will partner closely with operations, engineering, product, and data teams to improve access, utilization, and care quality. This position also combines hands-on patient care with leadership responsibilities across clinical staff, vendors, and network partners. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $335,000 – $387,000 annually Responsibilities Develop and evolve the vision for the on-demand virtual care service line, including AI-enabled digital channels Act as the clinical architect for the care model Provide direct patient care and handle clinical escalations as needed Lead clinical managers and indirectly oversee the full clinical team supporting the service Manage vendors and technology to ensure operational success Coordinate with network leaders and community practices to support continuity of care Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote service utilization Qualifications Board-certified physician in emergency, internal, or family medicine with 5+ years of clinical practice Proven experience leading and managing clinical teams, including advanced practice providers Track record of building or scaling clinical programs, not just operating within them Ability to collaborate with engineering, product, and data teams to enhance care delivery Experience designing interventions for population health and measuring care quality Familiarity with virtual care, Medicare populations, or urgent care preferred Benefits Employer-sponsored health, dental, and vision plans with low or no premium Generous paid time off policy $100 monthly stipend for mobile or internet expenses Stock options available for all employees Bonus eligibility for most roles, excluding Director and above Parental leave program offered 401K program included Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
