Medical Director, Pediatric Neurology Program
About the role
The Pediatric Neurology program provides consultation and other professional services as part of the Valley Medical Group and Valley-Mount Sinai Children’s Health Service line in northern New Jersey. This provider would be the lead to provide clinical expertise in pediatric neurology care at the Valley Hospital, the Kireker Center for Child Development (KCCD). In addition, this clinician provides consultation and education for our clinicians, clients, interested community groups, and helps support our broader community-based services for special needs populations.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical expertise in pediatric neurology care at the Valley Hospital, the Kireker Center for Child Development (KCCD).
- Work collaboratively with our PM&R and Developmental Pediatrics team and help build a program.
- Manage and interpret EEGs as needed.
- Participate in Department of Pediatrics activities, Kireker Center for Child Development (KCCD), and Hospital Committee meetings as deemed appropriate by the Chair.
- Provide outreach to interested community groups, including schools, childcare programs, parent groups, and other programs.
- Advocate for organizational values and commitment to gender equity and diversity.
Requirements
Physician in this role will be part of a larger multi-specialty group including experienced providers in Endocrinology, Developmental Pediatrics, Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine, Food Allergy, Cardiology, and PM&R, all in collaboration with the Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital and the Mount Sinai Health System.
Qualifications
- An MD or equivalent degree.
- Board certified in Pediatric Neurology.
- Existing or Eligibility for New Jersey Medical License, DEA, and CDS required.
- Maintains CME credit hours as required for Board Certification and/or hospital staff privileges.
Skills
Experience and/or an interest in the management of patients with autism and other pervasive developmental disorders.
Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills for both clinical and non-clinical audiences, in group settings or one-on-one.
Strong clinical skills with the ability to advance and develop a superior clinical service.
Ability to foster a respectful, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
