Lead the Future of Palliative Medicine in Connecticut

About the role

Shape the future of compassionate, patient-centered care. Hartford HealthCare, Connecticut's most comprehensive integrated health system — with more than 40,000 colleagues, 2,800 providers, 500+ locations, and eight acute care hospitals — is seeking an accomplished Hospice & Palliative Medicine physician to lead the distinguished Wolfson Palliative Care Program serving The Hospital of Central Connecticut and MidState Medical Center.

Responsibilities

  • Lead one of Connecticut's longest-established and most respected palliative care programs.
  • Provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across Hartford HealthCare's Central Region.
  • Partner with an exceptional interdisciplinary team of physicians, APRNs, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and bereavement specialists.
  • Drive innovation, quality improvement, program growth, and community engagement.
  • Mentor residents and advanced practice providers while fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and compassionate care.

Requirements

  • MD or DO Eligible for Connecticut medical licensure
  • Fellowship-trained and board-certified in hospice & palliative medicine
  • Minimum three years of palliative care practice experience
  • Minimum two years of physician leadership experience
  • Eligible for appointment to the University of Connecticut School of Medicine

Qualifications

  • Experience in leading palliative care programs
  • Strong clinical skills and passion for palliative medicine
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
