Medical Director of Psychiatry (Board - Certified Psychiatrist)

Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking a full-time Medical Director of Psychiatry to join our team supporting multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosis and treatment of patients in his/her specialty area;
• Collaboration and supervision of nurse practitioners and physician’s assistants;
• Participation in planning and developing health care services in his/her specialties;
• Treatment of conditions and illnesses within the scope of the physician’s specialty;
• Referral and follow-up of patients when indicated;
• Participation in after-hours coverage to insure 24-hour availability of care for Center patients.

Requirements

• Minimum Education Requirement: Doctorate Degree (including MD, DO, DD, PhD, etc.)
• Has Board certification in either Internal Medicine or Psychiatry.
• Has Board certification in either Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry.
• Active Buprenorphine license (or eligible to receive license) required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Licensure: Board Certification, Physician License, and CPR/BLS
• Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures that nurse practitioners are trained to do and are necessary for practicing in health care centers.
• Competence in delivery of health care to patients (including preventative health education).
• Ability to collaborate with other members of the Health Center in order to maintain high quality standards and achieve client satisfaction.
• Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orally and written) is preferred.

Pay

$252,288.40 - $274,055.60 per year based on licensure and experience
