About the role
The Medical Director, Occupational & Workforce Health leads workforce health for over 43,000 RWJBarnabas Health employees and 700 employer partners across New Jersey.
Responsibilities
- Lead workforce health initiatives that support employee health, safety, well-being, and organizational success.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, Human Resources, Operations, Quality, Safety, and Legal teams to advance innovative workforce health solutions and deliver exceptional outcomes.
- Influence workforce health strategy, employee well-being, and service innovation.
- Provide evidence-based occupational medicine services including injury management, surveillance programs, pre-employment evaluations, return-to-work services, DOT examinations, and employer health services.
- Oversee MRO, IME, DOT, and regulatory compliance programs.
Requirements
- Board Certified in Occupational Medicine preferred.
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine with Occupational Medicine experience considered.
- Leadership experience within Occupational Health, Employee Health, Workforce Health, or related clinical settings.
- MRO, DOT, and IME certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, CDC, DOT, ADA, and Workers' Compensation regulations.
- New Jersey medical license or eligibility.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: Board Certified in Occupational Medicine preferred. Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine with Occupational Medicine experience considered. Leadership experience within Occupational Health, Employee Health, Workforce Health, or related clinical settings. MRO, DOT, and IME certification preferred. Strong knowledge of OSHA, CDC, DOT, ADA, and Workers' Compensation regulations. New Jersey medical license or eligibility.

Pay
The anticipated salary range for this position is $215,000-$340,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and leadership background.
Schedule
A Monday-Friday daytime schedule with no routine nights, weekends, or on-call responsibilities.
