About the Role

The Medical Director is a senior psychiatry leader responsible for the strategic development, growth, and clinical oversight of the Child & Adolescent Service Line. This physician leader will oversee six child and adolescent inpatient units and two day hospital programs, ensuring the delivery of consistent, high-quality, evidence-based care across the continuum of services. The role includes maintaining a direct patient care caseload, overseeing the clinical practice of providers, driving quality and safety initiatives, and partnering with hospital leadership to develop innovative programming and implement service line strategies. Responsibilities also include aligning care delivery across inpatient and day hospital services, mentoring interdisciplinary teams, optimizing operational and fiscal performance, and building relationships with referral sources to enhance access and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and operational leadership for the Child & Adolescent Service Line across Towson and Elkridge campuses.
  • Oversee six child and adolescent inpatient units and two day hospital programs.
  • Maintain a direct patient care caseload.
  • Oversee the clinical practice of providers across the service line.
  • Drive quality and safety initiatives.
  • Partner with hospital leadership to develop innovative programming and implement service line strategies.
  • Align care delivery across inpatient and day hospital services.
  • Mentor and support physician leaders and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Optimize operational and fiscal performance.
  • Build strong relationships with referral sources to enhance access and growth.

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of experience in an acute psychiatric or behavioral health setting.
  • Experience leading care teams in an acute behavioral setting.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in inpatient or partial hospitalization programs.
  • Active medical license in the state of Maryland (or eligibility).
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry, with additional certification or fellowship training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Maryland Controlled Substances Registration and valid DEA Certificate.
  • Completion of a psychiatry residency training program.
  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $280,000 minimum to $340,000 maximum. Pay is determined by factors including board certifications and years and level of related experience.
