About the role

The Biomedical Technician II, under the supervision of the Tech Supervisor in the Engineering Department, is responsible for performing component level repairs on multiple biomedical device modalities. This role serves as a key part of the company's repair services, requiring expertise in up to three modalities and the ability to optimize resources.

Responsibilities

  • Performs exceptional service, repair, calibration, regulation, fine-tuning, testing, etc., on biomedical devices and equipment.
  • Exhibits mastery of up to three modalities and continuously improves and learns new skills.
  • Performs inspections on new, used, and refurbished biomedical electronic equipment and provides suggestions for process improvements.
  • Calibrates and troubleshoots a variety of biomedical modalities, including telemetry, pumps, monitors, modules, fetals, analyzers, defibs, blenders, etc.
  • Displays exceptional ability to service and optimize resources, requesting needed materials and tools as needed.
  • Aids new technicians with operational issues and communicates effectively with customers over the phone to assist with virtual fixes.
  • Provides guidance and assistance to sales and purchasing on production orders.
  • Performs quality control (QC) inspections in accordance with the equipment’s approved service manual to ensure the device operates to OEM specifications.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, vendors, and guests.
  • Identifies continuous improvement in purchasing and administrative processes and offers solutions to promote efficiency as Avante continues to grow.
  • Works professionally and efficiently with all levels within the organization.
  • Adheres to all company employment policies and safe practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, Certification in Biomedical Engineering preferred; Bachelor’s in engineering or similar field, preferred.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in relevant experience.
  • Ability to effectively learn enterprise system and computer software programs.
  • Trained to the basic requirements of 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO13485:2016.
