About the role
This employee performs equipment setups—specifically concentrators, durable medical equipment, and related items—in a professional, safe, and timely manner. The equipment is placed in apartments, private homes, clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, and other locations where people with respiratory problems receive treatment.
Responsibilities
- Complete equipment orientation checklists for new equipment and other necessary paperwork for new patient setups.
- Instruct patients in the safe and proper use of equipment.
- Make oxygen deliveries (cylinder and concentrator) and perform equipment checks on a daily route as determined by patient base and routing system.
- Refill reservoirs with liquid oxygen from a van-mounted tank as part of deliveries.
- Perform minor equipment repairs and preventative maintenance both in the home and at the center.
- Package equipment requiring major repairs for shipment to the manufacturer or their designee.
- Responsible for equipment maintenance per the manufacturer’s recommended schedule.
- Maintain company vehicle in a clean and orderly manner, including daily inspections and proper paperwork.
- Maintain the established preventative maintenance schedule for vehicles.
- Clean rental equipment upon return to the center, following policies and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse/storage area.
- Follow FDA guidelines for cylinder tracking and oxygen analyzer testing.
- Adhere to policies outlined in the operations manual, training manuals, and Safety & Regulatory manual, including those related to General Safety, OSHA (proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (Vehicle Safety Disciplinary Policy), FDA, and Emergency Planning.
- Serve as an on-call service representative during evenings and weekends as scheduled. Frequency depends on center size and available staff.
- Respond to service calls in a timely manner and record information on the Service Call Report.
- Serve as a backup for other employees during vacations, illness, or other absences.
Pay
$15 - $20 per hour.
