Medical Debt Collections Call Center Agent
Hourly wage estimate: $15.46 - $23.19 per hour. Factors such as skills, experience, and comparison to other employees in this role may influence the actual salary. The typical candidate is hired below the midpoint of the range.
This is a work-from-home position requiring residence within 60 miles of an HCA Healthcare hospital in one of the following states: FL, GA, ID, KS, KY, MO, NV, NH, NC, SC, TN, TX, UT, or VA.
Schedule
- Full-time position requiring one mid/evening shift per week on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday (11:00 AM - 9:00 PM CST).
- One Saturday per month (hours between 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM CST).
About the Role
As a Patient Account Collections Specialist, you will handle outbound calls for account follow-up and resolution of patient receivables while delivering excellent customer service. This is a work-from-home role, and you must live within an HCA Healthcare hospital market area.
Responsibilities
- Refer calls/accounts to appropriate parties based on customer inquiries (90% of your day will be spent on the phone).
- Identify problem accounts and escalate as needed.
- Update patient account records to reflect actions taken.
- Work with patients and guarantors to secure payment on outstanding balances.
- Maintain minimum production standards, including passing quality review scores and meeting collection volume targets.
- Adhere to company attendance guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service and collaborate professionally with team members and management.
Requirements
- Previous call center experience preferred.
- Minimum one year of related experience, preferably in healthcare.
- Experience with collections in the healthcare revenue space is preferred.
- Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
