San Luis Valley Behavioral Health Group in Alamosa, CO is seeking a dedicated full-time Medical Billing Specialist to join our mission-driven team!
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely reimbursement for our services by preparing and submitting medical claims
- Maintain knowledge of CPT and HCPCS coding
- Monitor claim status
- Research denied claims
- Post and reconcile payments
- Verify insurance benefits
- Obtain authorizations
- Communicate with clients about billing questions and account updates
- Collaborate with insurance carriers and internal teams to resolve issues
- Prepare account statements
- Maintain accurate records
- Uphold HIPAA standards
- Ensure all client information is current
Requirements
- 1+ years of prior medical billing experience
- Experience working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience using a computer and medical billing software
- Knowledge of insurance carrier billing requirements and processes
- Comfortable with accessing and using insurance companies' websites
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Great customer service skills
- Attention to detail
- Able to multitask
- Great time management skills
- Able to work in an office environment
- Able to interact with clients both over the phone and through email conversations
- Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer/phone

Pay
The pay for this position is: $19-$25.65 per hour
Schedule
This full-time position works 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
