Medical Billing & Coding Adjunct Instructor (REMOTE)
About the role
We are seeking a Medical Billing & Coding Adjunct Instructor to join our team remotely. This position offers a comprehensive foundation in electronic health records (EHR), ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS II coding systems, and the medical billing cycle. The instructor will teach students how to manage patient data, ensure accurate documentation, and process claims from submission to payment posting.
Responsibilities
- Teach Medical Billing and Coding courses remotely
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of medical claims
- Manage student data and documentation
- Provide feedback to students on their progress and performance
- Participate in departmental meetings and committees
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in a healthcare field
- Preferred: Completed Diploma in Medical Billing and Coding, or Insurance
- Preferred: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certificate
- Preferred: Completed post-secondary training as a Medical Assistant
- Three years of work experience in medical billing and coding
- Prior experience teaching in an online format or remote-live platform is a plus
Qualifications
- AAPC certification
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
