Medical Billing and Coding Instructor (Adjunct)

About the role

Meridian College is seeking a passionate and engaging adjunct instructor to teach in their Medical Billing & Coding programs at the diploma and associate degree levels.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment
• Prepare weekly lesson plans, assignments, and classroom activities
• Maintain accurate records and submit required reports on time
• Participate in faculty meetings, training, and curriculum improvement initiatives
• Integrate real-world healthcare industry experience into classroom instruction
• Foster professionalism, accountability, and student success

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Medical Billing, Medical Coding, Medical Assisting, or a related allied health field
• Average of 5 years of experience in an allied health-related discipline
• Associate degree in an allied health-related discipline
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable using classroom and online learning technology
• Preferred: Teaching or training experience, CPC, CCS, CMA, or related industry certifications, experience working with adult learners

Part-time Hybrid instruction format
Campus-based teaching required in Sarasota, FL
