Job Summary
The Adjunct Instructor is responsible for ensuring the success of the teaching and learning process in assigned classrooms, labs, or other instructional environments. The instructor will deliver engaging lessons, evaluate student progress, and maintain academic standards consistent with Hill College’s mission and values.
Minimum Required Education
- Associate degree, certification, or a combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Minimum Required Experience
- Recent (within the last three years) experience as a Medical Coder.
- Distance Learning Required.
Preferred
- Teaching experience in higher education within the subject area.
- Medical training (Registered Nurse or Allied Health background).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong background in: Medical Coding (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS, CPT), Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Clearly communicate course requirements and grading standards to students.
- Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently.
- Engage students through effective discussions and professional expertise.
- Stay current with industry publications and participate in professional organizations as appropriate.
- Aid with curriculum development and review.
Physical Requirements
- Sedentary work: Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount frequently to move objects.
- Health: Must be able to sit, stand, or perform repetitive motions as required for instructional activities.
