Medical Biller (Out-of-Network Physical Therapy)

The ideal candidate will have Out-of-Network Physical Therapy experience and be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing and coding for patient services as well as oversee our billing operations. This role will include administrative patient services. This role is a crucial part of our medical office, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about providing excellent patient care while also ensuring the financial well-being of our organization. Duties: Utilize medical coding skills to assign accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes to patient records and submit claims to insurance companiesVerify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for servicesAnalyze and resolve billing discrepancies and denials in a timely and efficient mannerMaintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient demographics and treatment plansEnsure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulationsPerform medical billing and collection duties, including submitting claims and following up with patients to ensure paymentResearch and resolve billing and coding issues, including appeals and auditsCollaborate with the medical staff to ensure accurate and complete billing and codingStay current with changes in medical coding and billing regulations, including ICD-9 and DRG coding Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent requiredPost-secondary education in medical billing and coding preferredOut of Network Physical Therapy billing experienceCertification in medical billing and coding, such as CPC or CCS, is a plusProficiency in medical terminology and ICD-10 and CPT codingExperience in medical billing and coding, including claims submission and denial resolutionStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple prioritiesFamiliarity with medical office software and electronic health records (EHRs) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k)401(k) matchingCompetitive pay based on experienceDental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time off and holidaysVision insurance Schedule: Monday to FridayWeekends as needed Experience: ICD-10: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: CPC or CCS certification (Preferred) Ability to Commute: Huntington, NY 11743 (Required) Work Location: In person
