About the Opportunity

The Medical Biller & Coder - Urgent Care & ER is responsible for managing the medical billing process and ensuring precise coding for urgent care and emergency room services. This role supports the organization by promoting accuracy in billing and collections, which directly impacts revenue flow and patient service quality.

Responsibilities

• Process medical billing claims using ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems.
• Review patient records for complete billing information.
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits before claim submission.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and perform collections as needed.
• Maintain records of billing transactions and communications.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing or coding discrepancies.
• Stay informed on changes in billing regulations, coding practices, and insurance policies.
• Use medical office systems to manage billing and protect patient confidentiality.

Requirements

• Experience in medical billing or coding preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, DRG, ICD-10, and ICD-9.
• Familiarity with medical records management and reimbursement processes.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication with healthcare professionals, insurance representatives, and patients.
• Proficiency with medical office software and billing systems.
• Medical billing or coding certification is a plus but not required.

Pay Range and Compensation Package

Pay range: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour. This position may require a two-week trial period at the standard trial rate.
