Medical Biller/ AR Specialist - Dermatology

About the role

We're looking for a detail-oriented Medical Biller to manage the full billing cycle for our dermatology clients. You'll handle billing start to finish — denials/rejection, follow‑up/resubmission, and insurance payments/ERA/papers — with precision and care. Every detail matters, and your accuracy will keep revenue flowing smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
• Work rejected/denied or underpaid claims: identify root causes, correct coding errors, appeal when appropriate, and prevent repeat issues
• Monitor aging reports, track outstanding balances, and reconcile accounts receivable
• Manage A/R and follow up on unpaid claims and patient balances
• Handle patient billing questions professionally
• Collaborate with providers to improve documentation accuracy
• Maintain organized, confidential billing records
• Track payer changes and stay current on coding updates

Requirements

• 3+ years of dermatology billing/AR experience (mid-level to senior position)
• Strong coding knowledge: ICD-10, DRG, CPT, and modifier expertise; certification in coding is a plus
• Proficiency with billing software and EHR systems
• Takes ownership, doesn't need hand-holding, but is a team player
• Clear and professional communicator with providers, payers, and patients
