About the Role

The X-Ray Technician/MA will assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the Physician, fostering a positive and professional work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
  • Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
  • Hands instruments and materials to the doctor as directed.
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
  • Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
  • Operates x-ray, electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests or schedules patients for tests at external facilities.
  • Administers injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests.
  • Keys data into the computer to maintain office and patient records.
  • Demonstrates a contagious and positive work ethic, inspiring others through genuine, caring, and friendly behavior.
  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, ensuring clarity and understanding for all audiences.
  • Acts as an effective team player, contributing ideas and meeting commitments.
  • Maintains adherence to standards of business conduct and compliance.

Requirements

  • Current limited X-Ray permit issued by the California Department of Public Health (expanded scope preferred, including digital radiography, chest, extremities, and torso-skeletal).
  • CPT I certification.
  • Experience performing EKGs, blood draws, vital signs, and IM injections.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and think quickly.
  • Neat and professional appearance.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Vocational certificate in Medical Assistant.

Working Conditions

  • Center-based role in a clinical setting with moderate noise levels.
  • Potential exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods, with some bending and stooping.
  • Requires manual dexterity for clinical tasks and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Travel up to 5%.
