Key Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for exams, record vital signs, and review medical history.
- Absorb and assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Administer medications and immunizations as directed.
- Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
- Accurately document patient information in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Support front office tasks including scheduling, referrals, and patient communication.
- Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment to ensure a safe environment.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide excellent patient-centered care.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
- Licenses/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
- Experience: Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
