About the role
The Medical Assistant Trainee - Float is an entry-level position focused on providing exceptional patient care and support in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient interactions using the C-I-CARE framework, ensuring positive experiences through intake, scheduling, billing, and feedback monitoring.
- Perform front desk duties including check-in/out, insurance verification, and office organization.
- Support team development via participation in huddles, problem-solving, and assisting providers with ad hoc tasks.
- Master technology tools such as electronic medical records, communication platforms, and scheduling systems.
- Complete clinical training and obtain necessary certifications, including BLS within specified timeframes.
- Assist with clinical procedures post-training, such as venipuncture, specimen collection, vital signs, vaccinations, and other extended scope duties.
- Maintain specimen handling, inventory, and sterilization standards, and support patient follow-up and clerical tasks.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in customer or patient-facing roles.
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with technology and software systems.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
- Confidence in patient interactions and adaptability to change.
Pay
Starting at $18/hour, with potential increase after training completion.
