Medical Assistant Temporary
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. You will work alongside healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to our patients, performing clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our occupational medicine clinic.
This is a temporary position.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Pay
Starting compensation range is $22.00–$24.00 hourly. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
Responsibilities
- Assist with scheduling appointments, managing patient records, assisting with billing and coding tasks.
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
- Verify insurance coverage and process insurance claims.
- Perform basic clinical tasks, such as taking vital signs and administering medications.
- Assist providers with drug testing, physical evaluations, drawing blood samples, and other clinical duties.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the back office and exam rooms.
- Provide patient education and answer patient questions.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and ethical standards.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and directives.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.
- Assist with medical procedures as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and medications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Previous experience as a medical assistant preferred.
